What I've Done to Her

An article by team Leopard in Talk @ Green India Summit 2010
She grew really beautiful, very calm, well cultured and was serving everyone. When I met her, I was very happy. I loved her. She gave me food, she gave me home, she gave me warmth. She gave me everything I needed to make me happy. As I continued to live with her, I started wanting more; more than I actually needed, more than she could provide. After awhile, I started spraying venom (fertilizers) in her heart. I started hurting her more and more. She did not blame me; neither did she stop saving me. In fact, she protected me from everything.

I started thinking that I was enjoying more in her presence. I had no idea that she was growing weaker by the day. Even then, she did not stop loving me. This went on till the point where everything was nearing an end. That is when I realised my mistake. Her health had worsened. Even then, she did not utter a word.

Now, I resolve to live with her and not by her services. Mother, till now you fed me; now it’s my turn. I’m now going to give you all the love and care that you have given me. I promise to get you back in the best of health. I will adopt a new way of thinking so that both of us can have a happy journey together. Thank you for all that you have given me.
